   Poolside: Laguna S 2.1 (free) took a bishop with Bxe6 on move 8.

   … The position is getting interesting tactically. I'll play Bxe6, which: 1. Eliminates the pinning bishop (black's dark-squared bishop on c5) 2. Forces black to recapture with the f6 knight (since the e5 pawn is pinned by my knight on... wait, actually it's not pinned anymore) 3. After Nxe6 fxe6, my knight on f3 captures on e5, winning the pawn and opening lines 4. This creates strong central control and initiative This exchange is favorable as it removes the active bishop and after recapture, my knight can capture the e5 pawn, giving me a material advantage.
